Interesting:
A Purdue University engineer
has developed a method that uses an aluminum alloy to extract hydrogen
from water for running fuel cells for internal combustion
engines. The technique could be used to replace gasoline, though
not quite cost-competitive yet.
The method makes it unnecessary to store or transport hydrogen -
two major challenges in creating a hydrogen economy, said Jerry
Woodall, a distinguished professor of electrical and
computer engineering at Purdue who invented the process.
"The hydrogen is generated on demand, so you only produce as much
as you need when you need it," said Woodall, who presented research
findings detailing how the system works during a recent energy symposium
at Purdue.

Musings:
- It was August 27th in1859 that Edwin Drake struck oil
at 69 feet below the surface near Titusville, Pa.
This was the world's first successful oil well. At
that time it was an inexpensive source of power and quickly
replaced the whale oil in lamps. We've come along way to
almost $5 a gallon for gasoline. I hope the fuel cell
that scientist Jerry Woodall has developed will be marketed
very soon. Hydrogen power from a formula of Aluminum
and Gallium is up against the odds.
- The real art of conversation is not only to say the right
thing in the right place but also to leave unsaid the wrong
thing at the tempting moment.
- Freedom of the press means no-iron clothes.
- I don't repeat gossip, so listen carefully....
- Q: How can you avoid spotting a wrinkle every time you
walk by a mirror?
- A: Take off your glasses.
- Q: As people age, do they sleep more soundly?
A: Yes, but usually in the afternoon.
- I read that Oprah Winfrey, who was recently listed at
the top of Forbes' 2007 list of the 100 most powerful celebrities
- as a child lived in a farmhouse with no indoor plumbing,.
Proving that anyone can be a success in this great USA the
land of the free.
